The same wild Arundo donax cane from the Var region of southern France defines the Jazz reed, with its characteristically dense fiber structure providing durability and resistance to humidity and temperature swings. But the profile here is distinct: Selmer team, working in close collaboration with professional jazz artists, refined this reed for rich, expressive tone with exceptional projection and instant response. Laser calibration via the KEYENCE profile reader scans 80 points along the bevel of every reed before it leaves the factory, creating a more consistent box of reeds.
